Just completed a great job with BCHA, shooting images for a new leaflet which will promote and explain their services for the homeless. I couldn’t get free for the whole shoot, so we were able to use four City & Guilds students to manage much of the image making.

grab shot from phone - how to squeeze a studio and too many people into a hotel room...

A really busy – and very hot – day, setting up the kit, balancing the lighting, rushing off to Poole then back for the bulk of the shoot. I think at one stage there were almost as many models waiting in the wings as creatives. A great concept – ‘everyone can be a superhero’.

Thanks to Vicky, Beth, Marcia and Jim for their time, and to all the models who put up with dressing up as super heros and pretending to fly…

A great experience for my students, and it was good to work with Suzy from Strawberryfields Represents, and Tim from Momo:Type.

We could say that the combination of long pose and immense detail captured on the 5″x4″ negative give a painterly result – but this is pure photography, done the old slow way…

Only a skeleton website for now – more to come – www.slowphotography.co.uk

We know how hard it is to fit everything in to the typical self employed day (Don’t we just. It’s not only the job itself, is it? You have to be your own support team, purchasing office, finance department…), and yet keep costs to a minimum.

We have been developing something that might just help and not break the bank – a website you can update yourself for £350 plus hosting. If that sounds interesting, get your people to talk to our people….

Over the years we have worked with several community organisations – from the arts to food producers. We specialise in the sort of Content Management System (CMS) website that allows web content to be created and managed by different members of an organisation, within a level of editorial control.
Perhaps more important than the choice of software (we often use Joomla, but there are several others) is an understanding of how to fit the management of the site to your structure -we always start with a consultancy phase to make sure we both get it right.

Newsletter? Event Calendar? Protected, members-only area? Tell us what your long term goals are and we will help by designing a structure that will cope with your plans even if you are not ready yet.

We always make sure you have enough training, and we expect to hold your hand for the first few months. We can also deliver training on creating content for your site – both text and images.
